Fostoria presents a unique challenge to genealogists because it is located in three counties—Hancock, Seneca, and Wood.
Due to the generous support of the Fostoria Lineage Research Society and local genealogists, the library has been able to build a large collection of materials pertaining to Fostoria's tri-county area.
Some of the resources are county genealogical publications and newsletters, Toledo Diocese records, U.S. Census microfilm and indexes, cemetery records and indexes, Ohio military records, and family histories contributed by Lineage Society members and patrons.
Access to the online Ancestry Library Edition—as well as general Internet access—is provided by the public computers located in the department.
Two ScanPro 3000 Microfilm Readers are provided to read and print from newspaper and census microfilm, as well as microfiche.
